What makes North Grove Dental so different?

Dental offices are usually either small and dated or large and impersonal. In such cases dental treatment is either not up to modern standards or the office sees so many patients that they hurry through treatment, considering the patient as just a number. North Grove Dental is a state-of-the-art practice which strives to provide patients with personal, quality care. We believe that when you have a staff of perfectionists who are dedicated, the patient’s best results are achieved. We also believe that if you’re honest with everyone, it’ll come back to you – whether its creating a patient treatment plan or maximizing their insurance benefits. We value our patient’s trust and our relationship with them is important to us. Their health is our foremost priority.

How long has Dr. Beard been practicing in Spartanburg?

For over 10 years, Dr. Beard was associated with a dental practice on the east side of town. In January 2008, he decided to practice dentistry independently. He broke ground for North Grove Dental the following month on the North Grove Medical Park's campus. The state-of-the-art practice opened in November 2008 with several staff members from his former practice.

I don't have dental insurance. Do you offer a discount to those without insurance?

Yes, we do!

Can you tell me how much a procedure costs over the phone?

North Grove Dental is committed to providing the foremost quality dentistry with full understanding and consideration of the economic circumstances our patients may be facing. However, it is our policy to refrain from quoting our service fees without a consultation with Dr. Beard and our team.

Do you refer to a specialist for some procedures?

While we do perform root canals and extractions/oral surgery, we also refer patients in need of a specialist’s care to a specialist.

Do you specialize in braces?

No. As perfectionists, we feel that it is important to refer patients in need of this service to orthodontists who not only specialize specifically in orthodontics, but who are perfectionists as well. Our patients deserve the best results possible.

Do you see children?

Absolutely! We love children! Dr. Beard and our hygienists strongly feel that a child's first impression of the dental office should be a positive one. We welcome children age four and over, whose parents feel that they will be willing and cooperative. However, keep in mind that a child's perception of the dental office begins with the parent. A nervous parent often causes a nervous child, therefore it is imperative for parents to communicate the importance of going to the dentist from a positive standpoint at an early age. Doing so builds a child's dedication to dental treatment that will last them a lifetime. Parents are welcome to be present during a child's treatment.

I'm afraid of the dentist! Do you cater to cowards?

You won't be a coward by the time you leave our office! We understand that many patients have had different experiences at dental offices during the course of their lives. Unfortunately those experiences have caused patients to miss years of important dental treatment that lead to serious oral health issues. The truth is, a visit to the dentist office isn't what it used to be. Like other areas of modern medicine, it has changed greatly over the course of the last 40 years. With a staff that is caring to each patient, we believe that a visit to North Grove Dental will change anyone's perspective of dental treatment. And we have the patient testimonials to prove it!

Should I transfer X-Rays From My Former Dentist?

Yes. X-rays are required by our team to diagnose treatment properly. If you had x-rays taken at another office 6-12 months prior to your appointment with us, we ask that you obtain them. Transferring these records will avoid additional x-ray charges that your insurance will not cover.

Please note that our office does not call other offices for your records and prior x-rays, as they often require patients to verify the request with a signature, personal phone call or payment of a balance. While a patient's records are their legal right, an office may legally charge a nominal fee for x-rays and other patient records if they choose.

If your x-rays are being sent to us from an office that takes digital x-rays, please have them sent to NorthGroveDental@aol.com with your name in the subject line.

I haven't been to the dental office in years! What can I expect?

A great experience with a professional team of caring perfectionists! Since most patient's insurance covers two cleanings per year at 80-100%, we recommend a fresh start beginning with a hygiene/cleaning appointment. During this appointment you will have your teeth cleaned, x-rays taken and an exam with Dr. Beard, during which a treatment plan will be presented. If you are not due for your annual cleaning, we require an examination with Dr. Beard and our team before any treatment is performed.

Do you accept Medicaid?

Unfortunately, we do not at this time.
